London Chiropractors Special Care
The most common issues clients seek help with are back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, sciatica. This doesn’t mean that chiropractic is only effective for the above. As chiropractors, we work on optimising the nervous system to improve communication between the brain and the body, which can have a wider positive impact. The body may have developed different types of imbalances like muscle imbalance by the clients come and visit our chiropractic clinic.
Muscle imbalance
This is anything that involves muscle imbalance, joints, ligaments, cartilage and bone structures. Bad posture – which is often accompanied by its cousin, unequal weight distribution – can cause changes in the way the body moves, leading to excessive pressure across the joints and ligaments in affected areas. This can cause some muscles to overwork while other muscles may become weak and under-utilised. This muscle imbalance may, in turn, cause the postural alignment to become worse, further increasing the strain put on the muscle and skeletal system.
Common symptoms may include, but are not limited to:
- Muscle weakness
- Muscle tightness
- Unbalanced muscular development
- Friction points in the joints
- Grinding sensations
- Restricted range of motion and mobility
- Localised or more generalised inflammation
If your posture is misaligned, it can cause changes in the way your bone structure and joints work together. By changing the angles and the amount of pressure, due to weight imbalance, unnecessary friction or tracking problems may ensue. If left unchecked this may lead to accelerated wear and tear. Structural imbalances as described will usually impact the muscular system as well as the skeletal and vice-versa. This is why we often speak about your muscular-skeletal system, as they work together as a team. The skeleton with the cartilage and discs provide the structure while the muscles, powered by the nerves, provide strength and contraction required for movement. The tendons or sinew are another part of the connective tissue connecting the muscles and the bones. Here is a list of some of the muscular-skeletal issues clients present with:

Neurological Imbalances
This is anything that affects the communication between the brain and the body through your internal communication highway: the central nervous system. Bad posture may cause impingement of a nerve, which can severely disrupt communication. This may create subpar performance such as muscle weakness or improper activation and pre-activation of the muscles. On the other hand, it could affect other functions as communication is not limited to muscles but also includes organs and systems.
Stress is another big disruptor of the central nervous system. While the ‘fight and flight’ response is important for survival, being constantly in this state, even when no real physical danger is present, can lead to things like adrenal exhaustion, insomnia and weakened immunity. Reducing physical and mechanical stress through chiropractic structural re-alignment promotes a more relaxed central nervous system.
Here is a list of some neurological or nerve-related issues we help clients with. Please note that we don’t ever profess to replace medical chiropractic care, we simply support the body in healing itself. Also while we’re calling them neurological, there are other factors at play; we are simply saying that the nerves may play a very important role in these:
